I don't really understand. Isn't the wind supposed to come from the same direction?

  1. A hurricane is also called a cyclone ie circular storm. Spin any round object a plate will do. The top half has to  spin opposite to the direction of the bottom half.

Just one of the reasons these storms can be so destructive.

  2. A hurricane moves circularly.

      Okay, do this.

Go into the bathroom and flush the toilet.

Now look in there and imagine  you  are a tiny person who has to wade through the swirling waters.

I think that will make it clear.

  3. Well if you think about it a hurricane can basically be seen as a circle.  If you look at a clock you can see that the hands go the oposite direction on the top of the clock as the bottom.  Same thing for a hurricane.  Winds go opposite directions on the top of the hurricane compared to the bottom
