Why all of the thumbs down for intelligent answers?

Question

For example the question was asked about your favorite victory celebration. Many honest and intellegent answers were submitted but some geniuses gave these answers thumbs down. It really deminishes the credability of this site. Stupid or Troll answers deserve a thumbs down, but give the legits a break! If you get a chuckle from a smartarse-give 'em a break.

Almost all of my NASCAR answers get at least one thumbs down. I try to be fair and thoughtful but apparently it isn't appreciated.

well I have my own personal troll or hater.  I get thumbs down from it regardless of my answer.  I don't understand why people feel to do that anyway.  it messes up the board.  well when I give thumbs down it makes them disappear to the bottom of the board.  The only ones I give a thumbs down to...to get them out of my site...are trolls...or haters/bashers the ones with nothing intelligent to say but say it anyway.  Usually name calling when they are on the losing end of a discussion.

Those are the kinds that I thumbs down all the time. It's like banishing them to h**l.  LOL

The others, regardless if I agree or disagree...if I don't give them a thumbs up I just leave them be.

I think a lot of people do it just because they don't like that persons driver, which is pretty sad. I don't normally give thumbs down unless the answer is just plain wrong or insulting, or spam. It always amazes me. There are some very creditable people around here but you will always see those who get thumbs down no matter what they say. The Kyle Busch fans especially have it bad sometimes lol.

My answers are biased and polarizing... so I expect thumbs down! I agree with you though... people need to give other people a break

Unfortunately, you get used to it.  If you notice, I usually get more than most.  Who really cares.  If you give a sincere answer, and you are satisfied that you are not bashing or BS'ing...Then you know you have a right to your opinion, given with respect and must be happy knowing that.  Ignore all the stupid stuff.  The more you bring it up, the more it will happen.

The people who frequent the NASCAR section are some fickle folks.  A lot of people give thumbs down because they don't like a certain answerer (petty and childish, isn't it?).  

And, I'll bet ya that I get LOTS of thumbs down for this post, as most of my posts get thumbs down.  It can be straight fact and they give me thumbs down.  I don't know why and I don't really care.  The only thing that makes me mad is when questions go to voting and a false answer or an answer that just says "yes" or "no" with no description is voted as the best answer simply because people don't want to vote for the person who wrote the better answer.  

Personally, I give thumbs up, down and stars sparingly.  You have to earn it!  Besides, I don't care for childish games.

Two things that I have noticed is this. Someone here (for one) doesn't like the competition for best answers. They try to run people out of the forum.

Second is there are some fans that are pretty childish about how they use the report feature to lash back at someone that speaks out against their driver.

I will not call out a group of fans in order to keep peace but they misuse the thumbs feature because they get their feelings hurt when you talk bad about their driver. They dish it out but can't take it.

It's pretty childish if you ask me but I am almost pretty sure that it is an adult doing it and not a child. Just a childish person.

There sure are alot of thumbs down here it seems like (I think I could get an award for one of the people with the most thumbs down on any question LOL) but hey that's the way it goes I guess don't let it brother ya it's not worth it! It's probally just some troll that doesn't have anything better to do! Or maybe they are jealous that they couldn't come up with a decent answer so they decide to take it out on those of us that can!!

edit: Hi Maggie and your funny LOL your answer is good too I think we should have a contest and see who get the most thumbs down what do you think? LOL

If the answer does not have to do with the same 3 or 4 drives they get thumbs down.
