Why all the Panther haters?

Why does everyone seem to trash the Panthers. For all you people that say the panthers are moving or need to move you obviously no nothing. First of all the panthers have a lease they need to honor. They wont be going anywhere anytime soon. Second of all you cant say a hockey team wont work just because its hot in florida. The weather has nothing to deal with a team. Last thing I would like to say is that the panthers had a time where there were over 100 consecuitive sellouts. Thats why there in one of the biggest arenas. When the panthers went on their 6 game win streak last season they averaged over 17,000 to each game(Winning solves everything). So my question...why all the haters?

Personally, I don't think any non-Panthers fans cares enough about the Panthers to hate on them, or have some other reason yet unexplained as to why they don't hate on them here, because I just don't see many people hating on them here.

I think it is because news doesn't make it out of your state? Yeah so what your team is not very good....whatever the Leafs still have fans so that's not it.

A lot of the residents of down south are Northerners who moved down to "Sno-Bird" in the winter. So there are fans there so that is not it.

People don't  see your team or here about your team unless someone gets there neck cut. Florida is a great state for keeping there excitement in and not letting it leave the state. So I think that is what is is News travels fast. Fla. just needs to start spreading good news about there team and not just the Horror of Bankruptcy!!!!

The Panthers have a greedy owner/front office. they don't put together a team to win. they put together a low payroll and bring in revenue from "fans". i can't even call them fans, because like you said they only sold out when they went on a win streak. Places like Detroit, Minnesota, and Montreal sell out their stadium every single game. as you said " winning solves everything" the panthers don't win, one 6 game streak isn't good they've been one of the worst teams in the NHL. They need to move to Quebec, Winnipeg or Seattle, just to a place that will care about a hockey team. That's why there are all the "haters".

A lease can be bought out...

The management there sucks. Quite frankly, they don't know how to put together a winning team. It's only a matter of time before the owner gets sick of loosing money and sells the team. With the cap floor going up and up, There is a minimum that must be spent.

I'm a Hurricanes fan. I understand the doubts. But you really do have to win. And the panthers just can't. They need to spend more money to build a team, but they don't have that money because nobody comes because they suck.

No one likes bandwagoners, its that simple.  being diehard is what its about.  thats why people hate pens fans, 3 years ago the mellon would be half empty, and now their winning its full.  Its that if you sell consistantly no matter what the record(like the canadiens teams, detroit, NYR, Wild) it shows that they are true hockey fans and not just people that follow the team when they are winning. Whinning shouldnt be the reason for the stadium to sell out, thats why people think that they should move the panthers

First of all if you truly are a diehard panthers fan, you probably dont know as much about hockey as you think you do.  Seriously no offence meant, if I had an opinion on the NFL or a NFL team I would expect the same comment made to me.  Florida is as far away from true hockey as could be...that said there is nothing wrong with people from Florida loving the sport.

To quickly clarify this point the last time I was in a Miami Hotel I was reading a "what to do in FL." type of magazine that was in the room and one of the items "to do" was to go and see a ... and I quote ... "Miami Panthers" game with a picture of the Florida Panthers under the headline.  Sorry but show me another place or even sport where local writers (and editors) dont get a local major league team name right?!?

Seriously, there are "Panther haters" here? First of all, anyone can break a lease. Second, because it's hot in Florida, no one would want to support a losing team for a game that is stereotyped as a Canadian game. Human ignorance at its best. Lastly, I'll quote you: "...panthers HAD a time when there were over 100 consecutive sellouts." Keyword: HAD. Stop living in the past.

Just face it, your Panthers suck just as much as my Leafs. Now that I think about it, both organizations have horrible management.

The best franchises constistantly sell out.  Look at Montreal, Detroit, Philly (we sold out nearly every game with the worst record in the league last year, its almost impossible for me to find tickets ever), Toronto, anywhere else in Canada.  The team should not have to win to draw fans.  The area should have enough die hard hockey fans to warrant a team.

I think the bias and hatred comes from the fact that the team could and should be somewhere else where they love hockey.  There are many, many more deserving cities in North America than Miami.  Places like Canada or Wisconsin absolutely adore the sport, but are really not represented, while Miami has a team and really doesn't seem to realize it.  There'd be no anger if the rest of the NHL was located correctly.

OK I am the Panther fan that has been on here the longest. Most of what I see is warm weather bias and just plain stupidity from people who are not down here and do not know how much Florida loves the Panthers The Canadian people wanted another team in their country ,which I totally understand. I play hockey and have played up in the hockey motherland and loved it. It just gives some people here a chance to whine and moan. They could be saying that about several teams that are in much more trouble than the Panthers would ever be, but they don't. I Also think for some reason they hate the fact that there are two teams in  Florida. Not realizing the real distance between the two. NY has three teams , California has two. I wish I knew what would stop the stupid questions about the Panthers, but they keep coming. I will keep answering and letting them know what is what from Florida. That is all I can do
