Question:

Why am I always in a bad mood?

When I was doing an art assignment and couldn't do it right, I snapped my pencil in half and slammed the canvas on the floor. When I was off pitch while singing, I just kept screaming and shouting. And when I couldn't come up with a name for my blog, I slammed my laptop closed. This all happened in 3 hours today. What's wrong with me? I get so irritated by the slightest things, and sometimes when I'm not up to my standards, I get really pissed and start cursing willy-nilly while crying. Of course I only do these in private. Am I officially a psychopath?

P.S. I'm a thirteen year old boy whose is in a quite dysfunctional family and gets lot of stress from school and friends.

  1. You could be constipated.  Try adding a few peanuts to your daily diet.

  2. You're not a psychopath! You're amazing!

You managed to do an art assignment, sing and write a blog in three hours.

Chin up my son, you will go far!

  3. Hey!

I too had similar problem. I always used to feel irritated . People used to avoid me due to my occasional outburst.

You need to accept your bad mood. Try to reduce your react time. Isolate yourself whenever you feel irritated. Search on line, you will find plenty of on line stress management tips.

Regular deep breathing and wight training helped me a lot. Take bath regularly and sleep at least 10 hours.

Learn to leave a normal life .

  4. Take a martial arts class and you won't be.

  5. Nah, you are just going through a normal stage. It's frustrating at your age, because you WANT to be everything an adult is - but you just don't have the skills to make it happen yet.

You are not a psychopath. Not at all. You are stressed out. At worst, you are angry because your life isn't what you want/need it to be. That's pretty normal.

Exercise is good to help mellow you out. Shooting hoops, whacking some tennis balls, running.. all good things to help with stress.

Emotions and anger that feel out of control and don't seem to have any 'meaning' are part of being a teenager. Everyone has to feel it and find a way to deal with it. A good rule is; anything but drugs, drink, or danger.
