A couple of sites that I've used regularly that require adobe flash player have suddenly started telling me I need to install it. I keep going through the installation process, but I still get the same message. What's going on?

  1. You have to uninstall the old outdated one first.

  2. I know what you're thinking: Spyware.

No. Macromedia Flash Player is a Plug-in for internet browsers, to either view videos or show moving content on websites.

Youtube is an example of a website that uses Flash Player.

Download it to allow more functionality on certain websites.

However, if you've already downloaded and installed it, go to where you would find 'Plug-Ins' in your Web Browser, and enable Plug-Ins.

  3. install it and you'll see. don't install it if you have a vary old computer. less then a 400 mhz chipset or dial up. pages will take forever to fully view.

  4. What version of adobe flash do you have?

  5. you might require to re-install your activex or java.
