Why am I bored to death and tired when it is cloudy out but when it is sunny I am full of energy?

Sunlight emits serotonin, which is absorbed through the retina in the eye and triggers the release a 'happy hormone' in the brain.  This generally makes you feel more energetic and improves your mood.

That's why some people suffer from seasonal affective disorder, where they get really depressed in winter time.

Man, I wish I knew how to fix that, I swear, I am almost fine all spring and summer long and for most of the fall, but in the winter I become d**n near suicidal. I hate it.
