Question:

Why am I called Emo?

Sure, I wear what some would consider 'too much' eyeliner, and paint my nails black. I'm not depressed, I don't have a 'scene' hairstyle, I only like a few emo bands. I don't write 'emo poetry', or think about death a lot. I'm part of an organization called CISV, and I assure you, we are a very positive group. So why am I classified as an emo?

  1. Because people generalize the true meaning of being emo. LOTS of true emo people don't even dress 'emo' or any of those silly things. True emo people keep things to themselves instead of seeking attention. You will just have to ignore them, because people's views on things may never change.

  2. People like to label others and put them in groups they're actually not. Just ignore them, you (and your friends) know you're not emo or scene, people who do are just stupid!

P.S. - Eyeliner is awesome! So are black fingernails.

  3. the people who are calling u that have no idea what they are talking about I'm the same as you and tell them to shut up and mind there own business and no if you paint your nails black and wear thicker eye liner and listen to differnt band doesn't mean you are emo . but people think if you have black nails and thicker eyeliner and listen to emoish bands that you are emo or goth so stupid and some people love to stereo type people. hope this helps

  4. cuz ppl are stupid and dont know c**p and just label ppl

  5. people just like to label and stereotype

i mean where does emotional even come off as being a label

    heck everyone is emotional

  6. people are jealous because your pretty.

some people think when you wear eyeliner you are automatically emo. it is not true. they don't know the meaning of emo if they think your emo.

  7. Wearing black too much is probably the reason. Just wear colorful stuff sometimes.
