Why am I having a hard time feeling my baby move?

I am 23 weeks. My son is a really active little guy but in the past few days it's been really hard for me to feel any of his kicks. If I lie on my left side and put my hand near my hip I can feel his movements on my hand (it feels like he's rolling) but it's really hard for me to actually feel them through my skin. When I do feel his kicks they are on my cervix. Do you think he's just picked an odd position and it's hard for me to feel him?

I AM feeling him and I know he's moving it just feels a lot different than before and I feel a lot less of them than I used to.

  1. My boy does the same thing and I think it is just because he change position so I can't feel his kicks as well.  Some days they are "violent" and I can see them really well from the outside and other days I can barely feel them at all.  As long as you can feel the little guy, he's fine.  He just got comfortable somewhere you can't feel him as well.

  2. My baby lays his head in my pelvic area, seems to be fun for him to headbutt my bladder, so his kicks are somewhat odd as well. There are times when I can't feel any kicks at all, but still know he's moving.

If I put my hand where he is kicking, it's like he knows it's there, and won't kick at all. The minute I take it away, he kicks. Although they are light kicks at times, he still moves. You're still a tad early for the "heavy" kicking. In no time at all, you'll think you're the character in the Alien movie and something going to come out of your belly.

  3. he might be less active as into how hard hes kicking. or hes just in a comfy spot that puts the kicks in weird places.

  4. The farther along you get, the more cramped the living space for the baby is, which causes them to become less active. As long as you feel "something" every day, you're OK. Call your OB immediately  if you dont.

Just to give you a sense of security, place a headphone set on your tummy. They love it. You'll feel the baby move a little more. They love classical!

    Congratulations on your upcoming event!

  5. As long as you can feel him I wouldn't worry. When I asked my doctor about this her response was "The baby is only human and can have lazy days just like we do".

If you don't feel him for liek hours then I'd go in and be monitored.

    Best of luck.

  6. ha ha, don't you love the pokes? hee hee  Your baby may be implanted deep in your uterus where you don't feel the movements as much in your belly, or you could have a tilted uterus. He may be in a comfy spot and doesn't want to move right now, or he may be sleeping a lot. The important thing is that you feel him moving some at least. If you don't feel him at least several times througout the day then see your dr for an ultrasound or heartbeat check to be sure he is not in distress. But if you are feeling him move frequently you should be ok.

  7. He is getting bigger and feeling a little cramped in your uterus. My daughter was really active always poking me in my side.
