Question:

Why am I having image display problems on my website from below info?

I have no idea why when I put images on my website, they don't look good unless I keep the aspect ratio. I think it has something to do with the way I create the image: I open a program, click the print screen button to copy the screen to the clipboard, paste and edit the image in an image editor, save it as .jpg ~ .gif ~ .tif and a few others and they all seem to look like c**p. I'm guessing it's all about the print screen function.... Does anyone know a great way to get screenshots from programs so that they can be viewed nicely, without worrying about aspect ratio?

Thanks :-)

  1. Aspect ratio is the ratio of side length to width. For example a picture that is twice as tall as it is long has an aspect ratio of 2 because it is twice as tall as it is wide.

I think what you are concerned about is resolution or DPI (Dots Per Inch) A good screenshot application is Snag-It and I would recommend it if you are doing a lot of screenshots.
