I own a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo, It has high miles so I was encouraged to have the transmission fluid flushed and replaced. Well I went in to the shop with NO problems with the tranny Now every once in a while I will get a short grinding slip in the tranny. Please any suggestions will be appreciated!!

  2. when you change your transmission fluid you should keep as much of the old transmission fluid as you can or a 50/50 mix because when you put new fluid in it expands with the heat causing problems. i have been through this twice and had the same problems twice and more than one mechanic has told me this. check the level when hot or after 15 to 20 miles of driving.

  3. the problem is you had the tranny flushed with that many miles on it, you should have just dropped the pan and put a new filter in it and put a new gasket on the pan and reinstalled it and filled with fluid, when they flush a tranny the filter isn't changed and thats where all your dirt is trapped and they back flush the tranny so all that dirt from the filter gets flushed into the tranny and it messes things inside up.

  4. tyr this.... go to the autoparts store and buy a bottle of Lucas tranny fix, drain about one quart of the tranny fluid out of the pan, and replace it with the lucas. it costs about 10 bux, but this stuff works!!

my bro-in-law gave me a 75' pontiac that sat up in a feild for 2 years. i got the motor running but the tranny wouldnt even bog the motor down, i thought i was going to have to rebuild the tranny. they told me to change the filter, fluid, and add a quart of the lucas, i didnt believe them that something in a bottle would fix it, but decided to try it anyways. im glad i did, it is now my daily driver and is one of the best shifting trannies ive ever owned.

look at it this way if it works, you got it running for 10 bux, if it dont you only lost 10 bux...worth a shot.

  5. When you have it flushed it disturbs sh it. It gets in places that it shouldn't be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the future just have it serviced but not flushed unless advized by a mechanic.

  6. Friend of mine owns a tranny shop and he says flushing them is the hardest thing for them. All it does is back flush all the c**p that was in the filter through the clutch packs. Regular oil and filter changes are far better.
