  1. It's called evolution.  Think in terms of hundreds of millions of years.  Human DNA matches 98% of the DNA in chimpanzees, which suggests the theory that we as humans may have evolved from the chimps over a few million years. First to evolve were "australopithicus," or bi-pedal animals that stood upright.  Next came the Neanderthals, an ape-looking creature that stood upright and made stone and wooden tools but could not speak coherently.  They grunted and made noises.  At the same time the Neanderthals were wandering around, the Cro-Magnon, or human, species appeared.  The Cro-Magnons did not evolve from the Neanderthals.  Anthropologists have not yet found the "missing link" that definitely ties humans to chimps, so evolution is but a very strong theory.

  2. Well, we share 94% of our DNA with chimpanzees and a little less with the other primates (apes, gorillas, monkeys). Since Humankind, like all forms of animal and plant life, has evolved over millions and millions of years to its present form. Look up 'Evolution' in Wikipedia to learn more.

  3. Chimps are frighteningly like humans .. they use tools .. and even go to war ... I've watched Jane Goodall's research .. ....

       It is fascinating!!

  4. They have 98% of their DNA in common.  Only 2% of our DNA is different from chimpanzees.
