I have been hitting my driver really well up until about 5 weeks ago, now I can't quit hooking the ball. Why?

  1. I'd say your probably dropping a little inside on the way down and just closing the face.

The best thing you could do to fix this problem is to go to your local PGA pro for a lesson.  Then you can be sure you are getting the right advise.

    Good luck with the golf!

  2. Across the body swing + closed clubface=  BIG HOOK!  To fix it, you need to keep your right elbow tucked close to your body.  That will help you release the club properly.  The downswing is similar to skipping a rock across water.  In order to do it properly, your elbow is tucked close to your body.

  3. your right hand is probably open on your grip so try turning it closed... also watch the back one third of the ball

  4. Your club face could be closed at address position, when you come to hit the ball you could be rolling your wrist over which will make it a hook. Try to have you clubface a bit open at addressed position than just take the swing without thinking about to much and see if this helps.

    Have a good one...

  5. The ball might have crept back in your stance? Maybe your grip has got too strong? Have you dropped your back leg behind your front leg giving you a closed stance? These are some things to check. Its most likely the grip being too strong.
