This is a video from a guy who had two jewish parents, grew up most of his life as an atheist and then converted to christianity about 2 years ago.

For the atheist who are itching to report me for not posing a question, my question is:

What do you think about the video and how does it make you feel....

I was an atheist also and I grew up most of my life as one. I refered to God constantly as a imaginary friend for adults. Science was and still is my favorite subject and I was and still is a very GOOD biology student. I decided to go to church to observe mainly why christians were so dumb and stupid to believe in the flying spaghetti monster but I found myself believing in God. It was wierd. Then I started watching creationist videos and I started to turn fully christian.

My story is very similar to the guy in the video. He was an atheist and started doubting himself. But just watch the video and hear his somewhat lengthy 10 minute story that is VERY compelling.

The question is

What do you think of the video and are you an ex-atheist who constantly refered to God as the flying spaghetti monster?

  1. Some people prefer to believe in imaginary beings than accept reality. Reality is just too much for some people. That's why they join a religion.

  2. Why are you trying to convert atheists?

[edit:] "What do you think of the video and are you an ex-atheist who constantly refered to God as the flying spaghetti monster?"

I'm not going to watch the video and no.

  3. If you are persuaded by VenomfangX you obviously haven't seen the countless videos that parry every single one of his statements. These are two responses to him, watch them and see if his pathetic attempts withstand any criticism.

In response to you. You may have been a good biology student, but judging by your spelling/grammar you were a terrible English student.

Another thing, you keep repeating that you called god a flying spaghetti monster as if that is tantamount to Atheism. It kind of sounds like you have a distorted view of what Atheism is, it's like a caricature in your mind. I can only draw one conclusion from this, you were never an Atheist in the typical sense of the word.

Which TheAmazingAtheist made a response to...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPSaa4-i7...

Also you're just linking a random video not in response to the one's I've linked. The ones I linked were to point out his inherent idiocy. There are thousands of rebuttal I can site against any video of his you place up. I seriously suggest you not use him as your shield in this.

    *Yet another edit*

First of all you make two comments that are just redundant and poorly thought out. You claim I'm trying to force love, when did I utter anything about love. Also,ff course you can't call me a bright christian because I'm not a christian, are you trying to veil an attack on my intelligence? If so your poor writing does not help your cause.

Why would I want to watch any more of his videos than I have? All of them contain the same half thought out arguments blended with thousands of logical fallacies. Nothing can be taken from his videos other than a feel of superiority to his poorly crafted arguments based on faith and fairy tales.

  4. 'itching to report you' ? Dude, I'm an atheist and I've stopped counting how many accounts I've had. As for watching the video, I've been on y?aR/S for over a year and I no longer waste my time on compelling surefire conversions and proof and other nonsense. If you've got proof, type it out in your post but copyright it first (to collect that billion dollar reward).

  5. That guy is well known for deleting all the comments to his videos that destroy his nonsensical, laughable arguments, what a tool.

  6. Wow, there were so many assumptions and fallacies in his argument I'm really curious as to why it's so hard to find any rebuttals in his comment section...

    Deletion on his part?

  7. Wow !

You take your direction from Kent Hovind's love child ? Vermin Fang x

    You must be Genius lol

Shawn is a scientific illiterate drama queen who deleats any comments rebutting his / Kent Hovind's ludicrous claims.

  8. I watched the whole thing, it was a waste of 11 minutes. His video should be retitled "Why I'm an idiot." He just some lame *** kid that hasn't a clue about life and reality. At the end he says it's a "no brainer." And he's right, he has no brain.

  9. Venomfanx????  Are you kidding?

If that video is persuasive to you, then watch these...

    http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?us...

they'll cure you.  He counters almost all of Venomfanx's arguments with *reality*.

  10. It's so much more common the other way that it's just silly to even try this one.  One guy turning delusional for whatever reason isn't even on my radar.

It's pretty funny that you'd think it might be.  Are you really that desperate?

  11. I usually don't bother watching these lengthy testimonials, but I did.  What do I think?  It was rambling and unconvincing.  The creationist argument about design is simplistic and unsupported.  The Isaiah 53 etc is unconvincing to most Jews, let alone atheists.  Christians pick and choose to make their case for the prophesies about Jesus.  Atheists don't pay much attention to Isaiah in the first place.

  12. I am an ex-Atheist as well. I'm very happy that I started thinking for myself  and accepted Jesus Christ into my life.

  13. 1) I think he was never an atheist.

    2) I've never partied for being an atheist.

    3) I think he was thrown out of Hebrew school for being an idiot.

    4)  He wouldn't know science if Einstein bit him in the bum.

  14. that's great.i always thought atheists are taking the easy way out too.by denying God they don't need to answer to anyone.or they think, but they will be held accountable.

  15. "I found myself believing in God."

It's also known as 'group scam'.

    It's pretty easy to do.

    Bush did it twice.

    "God gave us free will"

Nah; if 'god' exists there is no such thing as free will AND it would be the height of sadism.

IF 'god' exists he knows everything about me - my past, present and future.

IF 'god' existed he would already know I think that the whole invisible sky critter thing is a scam to scare and control peasants and children.

IF 'god' exists he 'created' me just to go to h**l.

Does this sound like the type of entity I would willingly submit myself to?

I don't think so; the very thought of a 'god' is absolutely illogical.

You really need to question more – they call it ‘critical thinking’.

  16. I'm watching this video...and I'm so glad I don't have to choose between atheism or christianity.  It's such a relief to realize that there are other religions out there.  Thank God for that.

  17. even if the video made sense to an Atheist, they have to much pride to accept it

  18. you are not an atheist because you now believe in God.

  19. It is the choice you and the man in the vid have made, other people make a different choice. I do not think people need to be rude about it.

  20. mmmm spaghetti (drools)

  21. God bless you brother-WOOO HOO!

I also and a fan of science. I have an applied science degree and I'm a creationist.

I'll now go watch that video.

    thanks.

  22. hi how are you?

  23. I'm not an atheist because I chose to have a personal relationship with God in 1970. It was the best decision I ever made. No one had to talk me into it.  It was something I saw for myself in other people and in me too. Yes, to an outsider, there is a lot of spaghetti flying around in church every sunday, but to those who know God and who are known by him, nothing could be better or more real.

  24. when the conundrum of life being infinitely intransitive, as in life being infinitely complex and simple at the same time, hit me I realized something infinite and eternal had to have created it.

  25. Well, I won't report you for not asking if you don't report me for not answering, and for merely saying: blah blah blah...

  26. "WHat do you think of this video?" - I'm not going to give anyone (atheist, christian, whatever) free youtube hits. So I don't think much of it.

PS: don't take the name of the holy Noodly Appendaged One in vain. You will go to h**l and be pasta-free for all eternity.

  27. Strange that you say that science is your favorite subject and that are are a very good biology student, but yet failed to see the problems or falsehoods in every creationist statement.  As a christian I started objectively reviewing the science behind creationism as I wanted to make sure that I could explain it to my daughters.  It did not take long to see an emerging pattern of lack of anything resembling science, or intellectual integrity.  The more that I review creationist materials, the more surprised that I am that Christians put up with being lied to.

Second, you obviously missed the point of the FSM, it is not a reference to the Christian god.  So in answer to your question, I would say that you were a mixed-up ex-atheist.

Third, I don't watch youtube videos, and I have heard 1000's of testimonies throughout my lifetime, another one will not change the fact that there is no evidence for a god or gods.
