Question:

Why am I receiving "No signal" on my TV?

I just bought a new Sony LCD TV and a Motorola cable box. I have Cox cable, the TV is connected to the cable box through the HDMI cables, and the cable box is connected directly to the cable jack in the wall.

I still am receiving no signal, and also no audio. Is there supposed to be sound when the screen is all fuzzy? What could I be doing wrong / overlooking if I'm getting no signal?

Thanks!

  1. try changing the channel on the TV to make sure you are selecting the right input from the TV.

  2. omg that like totally sucks fer sure!!

  3. Do you have your t.v. and your cable box sending the signal to the right channel? If your t.v. is on channel 3 and your cable box is sending it to 4, you'll have no signal and no sound.

  4. Make sure you select the HDMI input using the remote control, should be a button on there called 'Source' or 'AV' or 'Input'. You may need to press it a number of times before getting to the cable box.
