Why am I so quiet???

Question

Ok ive always been a quiet person even when i was like 2 or 3. People ask why im a quiet person but i just dont know why. Like im not the person to start a conversation. When im quiet i stay quiet. Its not that I want to but it just happens. Im not an open person. Sometimes I make conversation but thats once in a while. People always tell me whats wrong whenever im quiet. Yes I am shy but my question is WHY!!!! Why am I so quiet???

its just your personality. you can try talking a little more it might make u more...outgoing??

i dont think there are real reasons for people being quiet. unless they've been thru something big.

you may not be an open person but you gotta put yourself out there and don't be afraid to make an *** out of yourself, haha. thats what i do, i used to be the same way, but now you can't shut me up :]

Hey :) Well I'm not sure I can give you an exact why. I used to be the same way, always known as the quiet and shy one since I started kindergarten all the way through graduation. I absolutely hated it. I wanted to be outgoing and interesting and fun, but just could not bring myself to be that way. I think mine partly had to do with insecurity, but also I think it's just the way some people are. I'm now 23 and have just within the past year or so really started to come out of my skin. A lot of that was definitely a conscious effort though. I'm still usually really quiet and shy when I first meet people, but then I really try to let them get to know me and just tell stupid stories or whatever. Once people see even a slight change they will be much more open to talking to you as well, so it's a good on-going cycle. Overall I wouldn't worry about it too much. There's nothing wrong with you. Maybe your's will also come with time. And if not, that's okay too. People still appreciate the nice quiet ones. I know.
