Ok so I snowboard at mountain creek in new jersey. Its my first time. Theres the bunny slope lol and then the other mountains. The other mountains are all a lot higher but the problem is this. I dont know if I am just scared and am exagerating what will happen to me, if Im afriad of heights or if im just not experianced yet. Should I go a few more times and get my stops balance and turns good? Or am I ready and I am just to scarred and I am making it worse than it already is?

  1. just be careful man o_O

you've seen the videos of ppl bustin their asses doin that

  2. Just do what Ben Stiller did when he was nervous in "Something about Mary".  It should relax your nerves.

  3. You only ever do one turn at a time, regardless of how high the mountain is.

  4. The more you the better you get, the better you get the more challenging slopes you will be willing to go down.

  5. honestly i always tell myself to go big or go home. when i first started out i just went to the top. i thought to myself, what could honestly happen? you don't have to go down the mountain super fast or perfect form or anything like that, just enjoy it. that's what it's all about. i was sick of the small hills and wanted to do something that seemed fun and better. so i went to the top. i took my time going down the mountain and worked on turning and all that. everytime i went down it i got better and better. i mean basically the worst that happens is that you fall and start to slide. you just need to stop yourself and get back up. it's just snow. it's softer then the ground is. there are times when i will go where there is deep powder and just launch off a jump and just do some stupid trick and not even land on my board because the snow is so soft. the way i see it is, how do you know if it's going to be hard or not until you try? who knows, you might just love it up there. try new things.

  6. First off, there is no such thing as a big mountain in New Jersey.  It is more of a big, icy hill.

Second, you just need to man up and get your butt on a different slope.  Once you get on a different slope you will see it really isn't that scary.

To answer your question, yes, you are making it worse in your head than it really is.
