I am a semi vegan (fish is the only animal product I eat). I have been semi vegan for about 3 months now, and lately Ive been feeling like I have no energy at all. I know Im getting all my nutrients because I eat ONLY whole grain, fruits, & veggies. I buy chemical free foods and try to eat organic as much as possible. I dont know why I could be feeling so tired lately.

  1. you need proteins to create more amino acids which will create energy in your body. It is improtant to eat poultry because it gives essential vitamins for your body to funtion properly.

  2. Cocaine is vegan, try that

  3. eat some chocolate

  4. Probably because you're out of shape.

Semi-vegan? Besides there being no such thing, if you eat fish, you aren't even a vegetarian.

  5. You're obviously a troll trying to perpetuate the stereotype that a vegetarian diet cannot give you enough energy. And how are you even semi-vegan by eating fish? There's vegan and there's not. You're an omni.. period.

  6. When you detox, you feel different symptoms and fatigue is very common. Of course, the fish is still questionable, but that is your decision. If you've stepped up on the fresh fruits and veggies, their cleansing (especially fruit) can really show up as being tired.

  7. Make sure you are taking a multivitamin ... and a B12 supplement (VERY important)

Are you sure you are getting enough protein, try adding up the servings you've had for the day, here's a nifty protein "calculator":

  8. Your B12 is probably low.  You can buy supplements at GNC which are sublingual and will raise your level significantly in a short amount of time.  B12 is directly related to energy and is only found in animal products.  Vegans definitely need to supplement it.

  9. Your diet is neither vegan nor vegetarian, so your health related question doesn't belong here.

There is no such thing as a "semi vegan" and not even vegetarians eat fish.

Make an appointment to speak with a registered dietitian.

  10. It's important to pay close attention to how much protein you're getting every day. Try to make sure that every meal you are getting one good source of protein (fish, soy, any fake meats...), veggies, and some sort of grain or starch (rice, bread, etc). If you don't have time to eat well or haven't had much protein that day you may want to consider picking up some nice protein bars to snack on the run, just try not to rely on them too much. If you eat fish once a week, or every other week, getting enough omega 3's shouldn't be a problem but B12 and a good multivitamin every day will also help.
