I'm 17, play a lot of sport and are fit. I'm not fat but I wouldn't call myself skinny i dunno maybe about an Aus. size 10 ? . I think I eat OK (not great though :) ) and I did this measurement test that said I had 19.6% body fat and the 'healthy' amount was 22%. Seeing that I am under this amount - why am i starting to get cellulite on my thighs? -- Is it diet/genetics/ what else?

  1. Hormones, primarily, plays an integral role in the appearance of our cellulite. A woman’s body is always changing. From the onset of menstruation, birth control use, child bearing, and so on, the levels and type of hormones in our bodies can wreak havoc on our skin. Thereby, an increase in the appearance of cellulite can be during each major and minor hormonal change.

Age, secondly, can exact a toll on our skin. We notice cellulite developing more as we age. We probably had the conditions for cellulite since adolescence, but we see the cellulite more as our collagen production decreases. Hence, our cellulite looks worse as our skin slackens. Repeated sun exposure can help speed the process on aging our skin and should be avoided as much as possible.

Diet and exercise, thirdly, can affect cellulite, although minimally. It is true that if you gain weight, your cellulite may be more apparent, but diet and exercise alone does not seem to remedy the appearance of cellulite. It does seem, however that a diet high in fiber and water can help flush the system of some of the lymphatic congestion that occurs in the crowded outer layer of fat. Thereby, any treatment preferred to decrease or eliminate the amount of cellulite in a person’s body should be supplemented with good hydration and vigorous cardiovascular activities.

  2. It is probably from hormones. I am a competitive swimmer and I have basically the same as you. There isn't really anything you can do about it accept try and do more squats and things that work your thighs.

  3. From wiki: The causes are poorly understood, and several changes in metabolism and physiology may cause cellulite or contribute to cellulite

Don't stress. I'm young too and have cellulite. Almost every woman has it.

  4. Everyone gets it, but maybe the fat in your thighs has grown. Cellulite happens when the fat under the skin grows, and bulges around the sides of the skin cells, creating a bumpy look.

  5. Yes it's genetics and being a woman lol. Cellulite is not to do with how much fat you've got, it's due to the connective tissues being non uniform in women, therefore allowing any fat to bulge unevenly causing dimpling.

  6. well im like 15% and i have a little cellulite. sometimes it just happens. i play sports and have a lot of muscle but on my thighs i have lil

  7. well i am 38 and i don't have it. u get cellulite when blood circulation is not good. to make it better u can do massages. if u just started getting cellulite u may start massages and it will disappear. i have wooden massager with picks on it - i massage very hard that skin becomes red and has warm feeling. i don't use cellulite creams, but i guess they wouldn't hurt. but creams without massager wouldn't help. also i train with weights for 2 hours every day - maybe that helps too, cos it sure improves blood circulation. swimming in salty sea helps a lot.

  8. Cellulite always the biggest problem for majority of women or ladies... even skinny girls will have cellulite. This unsightly bumpy appearance of cellulite on the skin is most commonly seen on the arms, hips, thighs and buttocks of women.

You can try to read this article, is about cellulite reduction. HOpe it can help you and for those who facing this problem.

  9. I'm sorry sweety. It's genetics and hormones. Eating well and exercising can decrease the amount of it that forms. You could also go in to get lipodissolve or endotherapy. These are both expensive options. At your age, I would suggest just eating a lot of whole foods (unprocessed fruits, veggies, etc.) These can help with clearing out any toxins that have built up under your skin. Changing my diet reduced what little cellulite I had to almost nothing.

  10. the older you get, the more cellulite that starts creeping on your body and the more you have to do to minimise it.

it's due to diet (caffiene, refined sugar, white bread/pasta, alcohol) and lifestyle (not excersing enough, stress) but the most important factor is genetics.

Just cover up with shorts/girls boxers, brush your thighs with a dry body brush once or twice a day in a circular movement towards your upper body (heart) and exercise and drink water.

When you get a job and enough money, there are very effective beauty sessions to break the fat cells that cause the thighs to be lumpy.
