Why am I still getting dial tone, after calling 2 days ago to cancel home phone?

I was told that it would be cut off by midnight that day! (after I was "WARNED" that I would not have 911 service. But, don't they charge our cell bill for THAT too? (plus taxes, state & local)

I don't have a land-line anymore, but still had a dial-tone after I disconnect the phone.....so I called just to make sure....but ATT told me the dial tone is only do call 911...for free!

Call them up and double check.

i would call them back to make sure the cancel order was placed into the computer properly with the representative.. disco orders do not require anything special that would require extra time, unlike install or change orders which on occasion may take longer then expected due to obstacles completing those orders..

well they probrably have to do last minute communications on their end basically last minute tie-ups to do the disconnection on your line i hope this helped you :)
