I usually have oatmeal every day or every other day and I have 1 cup with some added brown sugar. For some reason I am still not satisfied and and I become hungry shortly after eating. Why is this? like 350 cal. and like 50 g of carbs, I believe in one cup. Thanks!!

  1. It takes a while after for your body to get the hint you just ate.

You need to wait a wee while before going to go eat something else, soon you will feel satisfied...

Whenever we end up feeling stuffed or bloated, we always turn out to ate more than we should have because we don't take breaks inbetween to give our minds and body the hint that we have ate.

  2. You may need to eat something else in addition to oatmeal.

  3. you might not be hungry it could be you need to up your fluids, try drinking a glass of water

  4. Because oatmeal is like 90% carbs 10% fiber, so your body breaks down absorbs and either stores or uses those carbs with in a hour or two, leaving you hungry

  5. Sounds like you need some protein. Carbs break down faster than proteins and can leave you hungry in an hour. If you have nothing but carbs, the blood sugar spikes up then crashes. You really need a balance of carb, protein and a bit of fat to keep you going longer. You could add a big spoonful of peanut butter to the oatmeal or have a boiled egg in addition to the oatmeal.
