I just stated judo this week and when I start to get thrown to the mat I get dizzy and vomit. Is that normal? Also do you think my diabetes has something to do with it?

  1. you're probably just out of shape.  i hadn't exercised in years and i went on a 10 min bike ride and felt great.  2 mins after getting home i vomited out of nowhere.  just hydrate yourself.

  2. I doubt it is anything to do with diabities it could just be from shock, panic, or you get motion sickness

  3. I would venture to say that it would be because you are out of shape or are pushing yourself too hard. I have trained with a few people over the years who have had diabetes and they were all  just fine as long as they watched themselves. They were able to train just as hard as the rest of us.

Take it a little easier and see what happens. You may also have something with your equilibrium you could ask your family doctor. Find out if you have some sort of nystagemus issue (not sure on spelling). Sometimes these issues can lead to problems with balance and perceived stability. I really doubt its the latter, but wouldn't rule it out completely.

I would really try the first suggestion as to calming down a little during training if it's possible so you don't get sick, as that's really bad for you. If it works then you will be able to up the intensity as the days go by.

  4. A lot of time when you push yourself to your physical limit you with throw up. I did the same thing when I started Gracie jiujitsu. Man I had to run for the door, it sucked. As your cardio gets better it'll stop. Just hang in there.

  5. what? is there a chess club in your area? it might a little more your speed

  6. don't train on a empty stomach but also don't train right after eating. drink water while you train not sports drinks. and if your training so hard that your about to vomit, than i would say your training pretty d**n hard. good for you. i stooped getting headaches and felling sick ofter i had been training for about a month.

  7. hmm im not quite sure. diabetes might have something to do wiht it. or mybe its the speed at which you are being thrown down at that makes you dizzy and throw up. do you get dizzy easy? i would just make sure your blood sugar level is perfect before you go to class. and i would tell your instructor and aprents and see what they think about this
