I mean, I was really happy for him and our country when it happened, but now I feel unpatriotic or something in being tired of hearing about it lol. Anyone else? Or am I just evil? xD

  1. read a book

  2. You're not being evil.  It is just that they have played it to death now.  Aside from the U.S. basketball team, there isn't a lot to talk about.

  3. Nah your not evil chappy, they have played it to death but what most probably dont know is that michael phelps won those golds as a promise to a dying boy who was his fan from back home who showed promise as a young swimmer at 6 i think but he developed a brain tumor and died in may, and as a last tribute to him phelps promised to win gold for him.

  4. I am not an American but still I like to hear more & more about Michael Phelps and u being an american how can u be tired of hearing about him. You should rather feel proud.

  5. You must not be an American! Or you obviously have no Idea what it took for him to accomplish what he has done. I wouldn't say evil maybe just uninformed.

  6. i don't know why you are, but you don't HAVE to listen right?  i know i always tune out when there's a sporting event on that i'm not interested in :)

  7. LOL, the only people that think an all time gold medal olympic record holder is overate are the jealous ones.

  12. They are using Michael Phelps to save face coz US is losing to China so they call Phelps as greatest olympian ever coz it compensates the losing.

  15. Don't worry I a sick of hearing about him to so what now that he is eating junk food I know it gets a little old after a while.

  16. Well, here's the thing it is overplayed how he broke the world record and won gold in every event he swam in but since it was so unheard of and since he is like the greatest athlete of all time almost they overplay it to let everybody know how incredible this is and how they are telling people they could've witnessed the greatest athlete in the history of sports

  17. you're not evil for thinking that but you're also not not evil

michael phelps is a good swimmer that tried very hard to get in the shape that he is in now...

yeah sure everywhere people go they see something about michael phelps breaking another world record or another olympic record but that's just beause they are excited for him because there has relly never been another great swimmer like him.

yeah sure i might be biased about my opinion because i'm a swimmer too lol...

it's completely normal that people would get tired of hearing about him because he's all over the news...he's just good.

  18. Because he is overrated and you see him on the Yahoo homepage every time you log in.

  20. Hard for me to say, but the US media has to hold on to the glory that we had this Olympic games.  Our other athletes are not doing so well at the moment.  They had really high hopes for the track team, but so far it's been all but shattered.  So, Michael Phelps it is...

It was an amazing feat, don't get me wrong...but you're right, we need to start talking about other things now.  How about that discus thrower that just won gold, our first since god knows when.
