  1. "Verana44 " is misinformed.  Passports will NOT be required after Jan. 31.  You must have your certified birth certificarte OR a passport.  If you are over 19, you need a gov't issued photo I.D.  I am sure there will be someproblems of agents at the border asking for pjoto I.D.f rom teenagers that are not yet required to have it.  It is so EASY to just go get a state I.d. card that I think it is a very good idea for kids over 16 to just go ahead and get one to make it easier, especially if they are travelling without their parents.

  2. You should just be allowed to present your birth certificate. It sounds like they're just having trouble with the change.

  3. Charlie is correct ! Your student id should of never been accepted actually that person made a mistake it is on GOVERNMENT ISSUED ID which student cards are not

  4. ok. this might be your problem. i have been reading that the southern states are doing a lot of checking to make sure that their students live in the school district. many people are sending their kids to school in the US but live in Mex., defrauding the American taxpayer and government. dont know if this is your case. good luck

  5. by january 31 EVERY ONE WILL NEED A PASSAPORT..
