Why am i dreaming of acting?

well i want to act i really do. i even have times when i dream of acting along Disney casts in my own Original Movie.and my friends thinks their are some ideas for DC shows but do you think it's silly? my mom thinks so especially since i am from the Caribbean.

It is not silly it is great idea. Show business is a beautiful profession but it is hard to make a living in it for anyone and it can be quite rejecting especially for women and minorities.Never let anyone say you cannot do  something because of gender,ethnicity,religion,etc.Be Proud of yourself!(always!) If i were you i would consult school counselors,acting coaches,musicians,other artists, and theatrical agents.. Do acting because you love it not for cheap fame.Less than 1 % of actors ever become famous.Perhaps can pursue a career as an acting teacher at a high school so you do what you love and have a practical career.

well, im asian. look how many successful asian or asian-american actors are there in hollywood. not that many are there? there's only one or two successful asian actors in hollywood who are making millions every year. hollywood favors white, black, and some latinos. they don't really favor that many people of other races. in every tv show you see at least like one or none asian character that don't really have that many lines to say. like Lost, theres one asian, Hero, and some others. i'm also struggling with the fact that im asian, and im trying to make it into hollywood successfully. just make sure that you can REALLY act. take classes, improve. make progress. and if your lucky, and if you are attractive, u might just make it. yea, its the sad truth in hollywood. u DO need looks if you wanna be really successful.

The reason you want to act is very simple. everyone wants to have there name up in the lights somewhere in the world for some great accomplishment and you want to have your name in light for an acting major! I suggest getting into every kind of theater production you can. If your town has a local theater try out for the play, if your school or library is putting on a play go out for it. even if you don'tt make it you will be more prepared for your next audition. if you don't necessarily want to be a Broadway star trying out and getting the experience will help you be more prepared for a Big Screen Audition and the acting credits will  look good on a resume you give to the people who watch you audition!!! Ya know I feel the same way all I really want to do is act. But I dont think that it is silly because you are from the Caribbean. I think anyone can act, if you want to star in a show or write a show or whatever you want to do go ahead and try because you never know. You could be the next big star!!

It's not silly for you to be dreaming what you want to do for a career! I have those dreams all the time, and criticizing family members/friends don't bring me down! What you need to do, is really get into plays in your school or community! That will make you more aware of what the acting career is all about!
