  1. I hate to be a party-pooper but - what's more likely, that supernatural phenomenon cannot be explained by the known laws of the universe or that odd noises and events can occur naturally?

Apply Occam's razor - the paranormal, simply, is not possible.

  2. I agree with Kenny.  I'd try to eliminate all mundane explainations first. . . once, my daughter's bedroom light would come on all by itself.  No matter how many times, we'd turn it off - it would come back on when no one was looking.  One day, as I walked by her room, the light clicked on - then off... I was scared.  I stood in the doorway and saw my cat climb to her top bunk and jump off - grabbing the pull chain on his way down... :::click:::: on went the light.   Mystery solved.

  3. I am glad that you are not scared.  I tend to marvel at these things myself. There are many possibilities for these occurances. One might be that you are of an age that you are emitting more energy than normal linked with the possibility that you may be psychic or spiritually connected. The other possibility is that is around your Birthday (your site name suggests so) and that someone is trying to reach you and wish you a Happy Birthday. Has someone very close to you and your mother passed somewhat recently? They might be trying to get in touch with you ro both of you. Go with the flow, I say.

  4. Well, it is good that you are not scared. I hope the rest of your family feel the same.

I believe that the more you fear them, the more frequent these things will happen. Maybe it is because of fear you start to imagine other stuff beside what is really happening.

but here is my story. In my house, you can see our family members walking around at night even though they are sleeping in their rooms. recently, my mom and sis have seen me walking around and keeping my  head low (by the way, I live in another city). This also goes for some of my brothers who don't live in the house. they wander around at night too.

    Normal?!!

  5. It could be anything, or nothing. The reason I say that is you could be mildly psychic and sense the vibrations of the prior occupants of the home. Sometimes these things can manifest like a video or tape recording, playing back past events.

I had a weird experience in one house where a lighning strike on our roof caused several weird things to happen

    the tv suddenly went on:

before the tv went on I heard a child's voice cry out Mommy!:

a prescence was in the bedroom for hours after:

I attributed all of the above to the lightning electricity suddenly releasing the energy in the house, even though we never experienced anything prior to or afterwards.

  6. Oh it's a sprit trying get your attentoin silly! You should say hello next time it happens.

  7. classic stuff happening. It's someone trying to get your attention, to let you know they're there. That you're not scared is a very good sign that's it's harmless.

  8. I think the fact that you have already decided that its a paranormal occurance makes it all related in your head.

Now anything that you cant immediatly explain will be categorized as ghost activity.

I would investigate the kitchen incident with skepticism if you really want to know what it is.

Me and my wife had an incident in the kitchen where we heard repeated but light rhythmic rustling noises. I ran to the kitchen to check it out, and it stopped.

Several times it happened, and when we went into the kitchen it stopped.

Finally, I went into the kitchen as quietly as I could and waited. What I found was that a mouse had ripped a hole in the plastic on a package of bagels, and was trying repeatedly to pull one out of the package.

If I had assumed it was a paranormal event, I would have never figured out what was causeing it.

Televisions all have remote controls which run on the same signals that are being broadcast all over the place by other remotes, cell phones, and various consumer electronics.

My father in law has a UHF remote, and when he uses it to change channels, it changes the channels on our tv.

Use logic. Don't connect unrelated events and categorize them as paranormal or you will never figure out what is causing it.

  9. It's certainly not unheard of that stray IR signals can turn a TV on, especially if you have any compact fluorescent bulbs in the house. Or the TV could be on a timer. Houses always produce stray knocks, especially at night when the temperature drops and the relative humidity tends to go up. Hearing music at night? Could be several explanations. Tinnitus is one, or a nearby car with a loud radio.

Go investigating. I'm sure you'll find natural explanations for these events if you do.

  10. Glad you are not scared.  I believe 100% in ghosts and life after death.  If you don't mind these things happening, let the spirits know you don't mind them and that they are welcome.  If you want them gone, burn sage.

  11. I used to not be scared when paranormal things were happening to  me (when I was an adult). But now that I realize what was going...I'm scared. I didn't know how much harm they could do to your life. Even talking about them to others can harm your life. (hopefully it's ok to talk about it on here). I guess I thought they were good spirits.

  12. You are experiencing a paranormal event when this stuff happens.  I have had the same things happen to me in my own home.

  13. exorcize your house. even if it were dead people, they don't belong in your house messing with your stuff.

  14. are you using a 2nd hand house? Call a medium to check

  15. Some T.V. s have timers that allow them to turn themselves on or off. Please check this. Other odd noises could be from someone outside the home, or you've got a mouse in your house. Get a cat. At least you'll have something to hug if you do get scared. smile!

  16. what your describing can have any number of explanations. Kitchens are places where noises and bumps are notorious. Most kitchens have heavy appliances like refrigerators, stoves, and dishwashers. Floors will groan, creak, and snap under all of this weight. Things inside of cabinets settle and shift when stacked. Food containers can thump and pop when the temps rise and fall because of being sealed. TVs can turn on and off because of stray signals. And in the subconscious you can hear thing that no one else does. I am not saying nothing has happened, but as I always tell my group, rule out the normal before you label it paranormal!
