Question:

Why am i gainging weight?

i mean, i eat, but personally i dont think i eat THAT much

this is what i had today(and i usually have the same caloric intake everyday)

im 16yrs old female 5'0 93 pounds and im a vegan

breakfast:

-2 whole grain toasts with natural cherry jam

-1 organic orange

lunch:

-(measured uncooked) 2/3 cup of whole wheat macaroni with a cup of pure tomato juice AKA homemade macaroni soup

-1 organic peach

dinner:

-2 whole grain toasts with natural peanutbutter

-1cup pineapple

i usually eat about the same amount of food like above everyday.

oh and i have white tea almost everyday

WHY AM I GAINGING WEIGHT its like a pound a week kind of.

  1. cut back on the carbs, you had bread or pasta at all 3 meals, cut the carbs back to one meal a day and that should help. (whole grain is good, but still has a lot of carbs)


  2. You should gain weight. A 16 yr old girl should weight at least 110lbs. And you definitely need to eat more throughout the day. Weight gain will not hurt you, it might even enhance your physical beauti but I don't know that for sure cause i've never seen you before.

  3. Your probably gaining weight because your body is in starvation mode, so it is saving everything you eat.

    You need to eat more.

  4. You need to put on some weight, you're under weight. And just so you know the less you eat...the slower your metabolism gets because your body is going into starvation mode, thus making weight loss even harder. You are too young and way to thin to even begin to worry about weight gain. Please step away from the scale and start eating healthy, drink more water and eat 2000 calories a day at the least. And talk to a friend or parent, you could be headed down a dangerous path!

  5. Maybe you're not eating enough? This doesn't seem like all that much to me. Believe it or not, your body knows when it's not getting enough calories and nutrients, so it goes into survival mode and holds onto all it can. Drink a lot of water and perhaps add some more protein in your diet. Adding snacks in between meals will help too. It will level out your metabolism so you'll be burning calories all day instead of keeping your metabolism on a roller coaster all day. Oh, and 5 foot, 93 pounds...I don't think you need to worry...

  6. You are Eating TOO many carbohydrates - it will make you gain weight.

  7. You are a bit underweight, and from looking at your diet, You may need more to eat. (Your BMI is 18.1, which is underweight).

    If I were you, I would talk to your doctor about your weight, and she can tell you what's healthy for you.

    (I'm not going to jump to any conclusions here, since some people are just naturally really petite.... but talk to your doctor. And eat healthy.)

  8. Are you exercising at all?????? I see that you eat a bit little calories and there's no reason you would gain a pound. Now, are you active or you just sit around? Personally, I dont believe with that no carbohydrate diet or very little carbohydrate diet since there are alot of good carbs that are necessary in our body. And as far as I know, the carbs in your diet (whole grain toast, fruits, nd whole wheat macaroni) are are good carbs. You dont need to eliminate them! :)

    Anyways, I think you only need to exercise. I believe you are in the underweight range. Why worry?

    Lastly, change a bit of what you eat. You know? Incorporate more nuts (roasted), beans, TVP or tofu and some veggies.

  9. You are a freakin' anorexic.  Get help.  You are not eating enough calories, you don't weigh enough and you are obsessed with your weight on top of that.  This should be in the mental illness section...not in the v/v section.

    The things you named wouldn't even have enough calories for one meal.  You are not getting enough protein, calcium or protein.  You will die if you keep it up.

  10. isecond that you are anorexic or a kid looking for attention. you are under weight or maybe not becuase you are only just 5 foot but what youare eating is not at all healthy. eat some veggies too because they don't really have calories and give you suffienct vitamins that you need.

    you are like eating ... 300 grams of calories. when daily is 1300-2000 a day.

    also yea you get energy from the sun, meaning plants  because the plants absorb the sun and then pass it onto you. definately add more vegetables and fruits.

  11. Because you're not eating anything nutritious. Everything you seem to be eating is fruit that's been [just about] soaked in a sugar solution.

    And besides you weight 93 pounds. You're BMI is 18.2, the underweight range is anything under 18.5. Healthy is 18.5 to 24.9. You SHOULD be gaining weight. Right now you're almost anorexic; if you're not. Considering the way you've been eating, you might as well be.

    Eat more. Exercise. Build something on your bones.

    Or go to rehab, you shouldn't feel bad that you're gaining weight, you should feel good that you're becoming healthy.

  12. Here is what you CANNOT eat:

    BREAD

    CORN

    PASTA

    POTATOES

    Eating any type of starchy foods will make you gain weight.  Also look at the labels for everything you are eating.  If it contains any of those 4 items above at all, including corn starch and corn liquids, do not eat it.  Almost all pre-made food has one of those 4 items in it.

    Also, ramp up the amount of fruits you are eating, and do not have any more than 4 oz. of ANY type of juice, drink more water (dont overdo it - a couple of bottles a day tops), and drink at least 1 glass of whole or 2% milk with each meal.  Do not go below 2% milk - unless you are lactose intolerant - if you are lactose intolerant follow the doctor's orders.

    Avoid ALL foods that say "fat free" or "diet" on it - those foods will make you gain weight rather than lose it!

    For a TREAT only - ONCE a WEEK - have ONE item with one of those 4 items I said to avoid - at least that way you will avoid feeling like you are missing out totally on having them.

    at 16 you should weight AT LEAST 100 lbs at minium.

  15. u are nto getting enough energy from ur food so u dont have the energy to burn it off, and ur body is storing the food more becuse it knows that it is not going to get much.
