  1. Probably the junk food ...

  2. i bet its the combination of them both thats doing 2 u

  3. Both!

When you have your meal your plate should be half veggies or salad. The other half should be divided and half should be a lean meat (chicken- not fried, but grilled) Stay away from bacon and ham. The salt content will make you retain water and are high in fat. Your meat serving should be about the size of your fist. The other can be a whole grain roll or potato on occasion, and other times fruit. Careful of condiments they are loaded with sugars and empty calories. Ketchup is a killer for it. Try low sugar ketchup- same taste less calories and sugar. 64oz of water a day will help your body not feel dehydrated and you won't retain water as much, plus you feel fuller longer

Make sure you eat 3 meals a day and 2 small healthy snacks like celery sticks with light ranch, dill pickle spear or SF Jell-O, or NF yogurt. They help keep your metabolism going.

Get 30 min of exercise a day, it could be walking, using resistance bands or joining a workout class. Just up your daily exercises by 30 min and you will lose weight. Toning exercise is also a good one for you since you are eating healthy. Crunches, leg lifts, squats, wall sits and push-up will help tone you down and build muscles which burn fat

  4. It depends. If you have gained muscle, muscle weighs more than fat. So there's a good extra pounds there.... But also, junk food will make you gain weight too. Did the scale just tell you you gained weight? Or are your clothes feeling tighter, and you're noticing like more fat on your face, stomach, arms, legs.. etc?

Because if the scale just told you that you gained weight, and you don't notice much of a difference in your body, then I'm guessing it's just from working out.

Keep working out, and eat healthier...you can still have junk food, just moderate it.

  5. both...junk food is high in calories and body building builds muscle which muscle weighs more than fat

  6. 15 lbs in a month is generally a diet issue, NOT a weight-lifting/muscle issue.  That being said, you're also 6'1 and 14 lbs.  155 at 6.1 is pretty skinny.

It may be that your body is filling out as part of a growth spurt.  You may also have put on some water weight, and (depending on how often you weighed) you might have weighed at a time when your body was a little dehydrated.  That would make the 'gain' look larger.

Always make sure to weigh at the same time of day to help reduce water weight fluctuations (I recommed in the morning when you get out of bed and after you use the restroom).

Finally, keep an eye on your body.  If you start putting on fat, it's diet-related.  You should probably start a healthy diet now, BEFORE your metabolism starts slowing in your 20s, so you avoid the problem altogether.  It's much harder to make changes the older you get as your body responds slower.

  7. Cuttting back on the junk food is your answer to this problem. It's really good that you're lifting weights, but lifting doesn't burn that many calories, even though it may feel like it is. For now, try eating more lean proteins and healthy carbohydrates (lean beef, white meat chicken and turkey, whole grain bread, egg whites, etc). In addition to your strength workouts, incorporate at least 30 minutes of daily cardio in. I bet if you do this, you'll see results in no time at all :)

  8. its going to be both.  your body will take what it needs from the junk food (which wont be much nutrition to begin with) and taking the rest of that junk that is not used for energy and storing as fat...hope that helps
