  1. you built your base mileage up to much.  I recommend you take, yes, 3 days off, I know it is hard, I am a running addict too.  Don't assume you are in top shape if you took some time off, I would recommend you run 4 miles next week and not only that vary distance and speed, have a day you run 6-7 miles and then have a very slow day and on Sunday, the lords day of rest, take that off and chill out.  Best luck with your season.  By the way that is because you are getting like shin splints like me, they will go away but you must rest.

  2. Maybe you should start with walking then jog then run your usual pace but timed out.

  3. It is probably your body reacting to being overworked. You can run five times a week but you should switch up your runs. One day run five or more miles slow but then the next day run 3 or less really fast. This way you switch up the muscles you are using everyday. Also make sure you at least rest fully for one day of the week so pick a day and don't run on that day so your muscles can build up and rest. Make sure you eat before you run a good nutritious meal but not too much. Finally you can do some light weight lifting especially abs because that will help a lot. Good Luck!!

  4. Perhaps doing too much? Take rest days, ice your sore muscle, 10-15 minutes, 3X/day/take advil if needed (this will reduce inflamation and soreness of your muscles)  Make sure your fueling your body so you don't tank out.  Vary your mileage on the days you run (1 day 4miles, next 6miles, next 5miles, next 8, etc, try running 4days per week with this and cross train, cycling, swimming, etc)  With summer here, make sure your well hydrated, drink sports drinks that will replenish your electrolytes/potassium/sodium/carbs - you lose alot as you sweat, so your body slows down, tired, sore, etc.  When your finished your runs, eat a high protien snack or drink  protein shake.  Protein helps retore and repair your muscles.

Keep running and listen to your body :)

  5. muscle fatigue, take an extra day off and rest them. Are you getting enough protein in your diet to help your muscles heal too?

  6. REST REST REST!!!!!

please! if you keeo trying you will just get even more tired and you might burn out.

so, please, take a day or couple off! take it a little easy, and then get back right into the normal stuff!
