  1. loosing up on your grip.

  2. swinging to hard...relax...

  3. Take a look at how close you are to the ball.  You will compensate and leave your club face open if you are not properly aligned.

  4. Lot's of good advice here.  For me the term "release" the club was always a mystery term until I took my first lesson after playing a few years.  The Pro got it through my head what releasing the club meant and how to do it.  In the link below notice in the lower left hand corner where Sergios head is in relation to the club after impact.  I found that if you keep your head behind the ball and down until after you reach this position,  your right arm will roll over your left and the hands will release automatically. Try to duplicate Sergios position after impact ...and loosen your right hand grip. (I am assuming your right handed) good luck.

  5. You are probably just not releasing your hands through impact.  Instead you are "hanging on" and not releasing until after impact.  Relax your grip a little and just let it go.

  6. One thing to check is your grip. If you have a weak grip you are probably leaving the club face open. A stronger grip means rotating your grip so that your thumbs line up a little behind the center of the club. This will help you close the club face at impact.

The other big mistake people make is that they try to swing too hard and end up messing up their swing plane, leaving the club face open.

  7. There are many causes to leaving the club face open at impact.  Typically, a strong grip promotes a release of the clubface at impact, but that will not happen if your swing is too out - in. (meaning on the way down you are actually cutting across the ball with your hands too open)  Now, furthermore, because you have a strong grip and you are still getting an open club face, it's probably more to do with your lack of forearm rotation through the ball.  Start the swing down with your back to the target with your arms dropping straight down.  As this happens you will naturally release your lower and upper body.  I promise you, if you do this your forearms will naturally release and you'll get a more consistent square clubface.  Good luck.

  8. you shouldnt have a strong grip. the reason you are using a strong grip is because your swing path isn't correct. you should go get a lesson.. oh and check tomake sure the toe of your club is pointing straight into the air when you take it back to 3 o'clock. and you need to "release" your hands on the down swing, which simplay means to "turn your hands over" just before you get to the ball.

  9. You gotta close it at the ball.

  10. The simple answer is you are not releasing the club head.   other than that I would advise lessons to cure the swing flaws.

  11. It probably doesn't matter whether your grip is strong or weak. There are a few common things that could cause you to have an open face at impact:

You might be cutting across the ball caused by a reverse weight shift

You might be driving your body too far through the ball blocking the release of your hands

You might not have the ball in the proper position at address (should be off the front foot with woods and longer irons and move toward the middle with shorter irons and wedges)
