Why am i like "lanky"?

I am 14 and grow tall but no matter how much i eat i stay skinny. Anyone know why i ain't putting on weight?

  1. You probably won't build bulk for another two or three years. My brother is super skinny, and it's just genetic. To combat the look, wear jeans with a lot of fading on the thigh, butt, and calf, but dark around the edges. The pockets should have a lot of details on them like buttons, flaps, and lots of stitching designs. Dress in layers, especially in the cooler months to add some bulk. Our school offers a weight training class. Try taking on some kind of weight lifting regimen and avoid cardio. Protein and natural saturated fats from meat will probably be your best bet for thickening out.

    i eat and eat and eat and eat

    but i can't put on any weight and it sucks cause i play softball and i'm a pitcher and it's hard to have a lot of speed on the ball cause i'm so skinny

  3. It's just the way you are, same as why some people are chubby. You may find that you'll grow up to be the type of guy that will need to work out to build up his size.

  4. It's genetics hun.  My friend Lorraine is the same, she's always been a tall skinny girl.  I could feed her anything and she'd still be skinny...  Then me, I run chubby, and no matter how little I eat I stay pudgie.  So it's all in your jeans.  

    But, you could eat more protein in your diet (meat or milk.  But if your also a vegetarian tofu, soy milk, etc.) and try to develop more stomach muscles and such, it'll make you come off less 'lanky'.

  6. You're still growing, everything you eat goes into that. I'm assuming you're a guy, growing guys are usually a lot thinner, and have really fast metabolisms..but it's better that you're thin than fat right ;)

  7. Try lifting weights. You'll gain muscle. But don't become a meat head.
