  1. It's because probably you are a shy person or u just not just to being in front of people. But it happens to allot of people of people so don't worry about it.

  2. Low confidence when i was younger it happened to , i took a panic attack once. Tell the teacher your not confident enough to read out loud.

  3. If you really think it is a serious anxiety attack type phobia, go see a therapist. Otherwise work on your fears by pushing yourself to do it again and again until it comes naturally. There are many self-help books out there that help persons deal with anxieties. One that comes highly recommended by many mental health professionals is the Feeling Good Handbook by David Burns. Link to Amazon's entry to the book below.

Here's the editor's summary of the book:

With his phenomenally successful Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy, Dr. David Burns introduced a groundbreaking, drug-free treatment for depression. Now in this long-awaited sequel, he reveals powerful new techniques and provides step-by-step exercises that help you cope with the full range of everyday problems.

    * Free from fears, phobias, and panic attacks

    * Overcome self-defeating attitudes

    * Discover the five secrets of intimate communication

    * Put an end to marital conflict

    * Conquer procrastination and unleash your potential for success

  4. Having stage fright can (in more sever cases) cause a panic or anxiety attack. A lot of people in the world have stage fright, it is common as they fear making a mistake in front of other people and being judged.

It does not sound like a panic attack to me, those are be pretty horrifying on there own and you listed none of the major symptoms.

Practice your reading. Read in front of your family and close friends, and try to build your confidence. But remember, everyone makes mistakes, even the most perfect people.

  5. Hi,

If you feel a panic attack or feelings of anxiety creeping up on you then try this word repetition technique that I learned that helps me to quickly 'snap out' of my panic attacks:

I simply repeat the words 'cream cake' over and over in my head as quickly as I can without stopping.    You could use any word or words you like really but that's what I chose (because I like cream cakes).  It apparently works because it doesn't give your brain time to process the panicky thoughts and so helps you to relax again.  Seems strange I know ... but it works for me!

There's also a free ebook that I found really useful called 'Get Rid of Panic and Anxiety for Good'. If you want to take a look you can find it at: http://curepanicattacks.premiergold.info...    Even though I got it for free it has helped me absolutely loads!

  6. Its quite natural to be honest. Even the biggest personalities dread reading aloud.

I don't think there is anything seriously wrong with you. I suffered drastically with social anxiety throughout my school years and became a mute for four years. So i do have something to compare with. Its not panic attacks, well extremely mild ones if it is. Try and relax, don't let your body take control of your actions, you stay in control.

Always here for advice if you need it. x

  7. i don't think anything is wrong, i have had it happen to me before, it just means you don't like the attention, i wouldn't get too hung up about it as it could effect your learning. so maybe have a word to the teacher beforehand. good luck
