I'm not conceited but i would say that alot of people think im really pretty. Almost everyhwere i go i get stares and people tell me im pretty, and i dont have a low self-esteem problem at all. I think that everyone is pretty in there own way. My question is why is it when i take a picture i dont come out bad but i look nothing like what i look in person and what can do to become more photogenic.

  1. If you are wide or have alot of dimension to your face it will be lost in photos - if you have a wide face it may appear chubby when the image appears in 2 dimensions and if you have beautiful subtle subtle features it may become difficult to see it in a photo.  The reason lighting helps is because it highlights dimension casting definate lights and darks so the idea of dimension comes out in the photo.

  3. no you can't make yourself photogenic. The lighting however can make a huge difference with photos though, so try taking photos at different times of day in different places and experiment with the settings on your camera/phone to see when and where you look best in photos. Anyway, if that doesn't work out, just have comfort in the fact that you're pretty, photogenic means nothing when you've got the real thing. Like I know some people that aren't necessarily great-looking in real life but the camera flatters their features, whereas I'm the opposite and apparently I'm very pretty but my features just aren't suited for the camera.
