My dad got the digital tuner in preparation for the switch come february. When we hooked it up we could only get 3 channels?

We ran the auto-scan several times and it was still only picking up those same 3. Why?

  1. Depends on your location and your antenna. You might want to get a amplified antenna. I'm in OKC and I get 22 channels with a RCA wal-mart brand.

  2. Cause they are not all digital yet  --2009

  3. With digital transmissions, you either get the signal or you don't.  You don't get a ghosty or noisy signal.  If you get it, it's clear and sharp.  There are some instances where it's right on the edge and you get a signal, then don't get it.  Or you get blocks on the screen as the decoding cuts in and out.  But for the vast majority you either get it or you don't.  You might need a larger antenna or maybe it needs to be turned to get all the stations.  I had to turn mine to get all the local digital broadcasts.
