  1. You're lack of night driving experience is why you are scared to drive at night.

Here are a some of tips.

Use your high beams when driving on dark roads, as long as nobody is in front of you or coming towards you

Be sure to try to look beyond your headlight., could give you a couple more seconds you need to make a evasive move to avoid a accident.

Drive only as fast as you feel comfortable

stay alert at all times and of course always were your seat belt.

    Be Safe

  2. maybe it's because you can't see as well in the dark and it's more difficult to be aware of your surroundings.

  3. lack of experience. go out to the country where there are no street lamps and little or no traffic and get comfortable driving in the dark. practice makes perfect

  4. If you haven't driven in the dark, try short trips first. There are a lot of shadows and reflections at night which can play tricks with your eyesight.

Many people don't drive at all at night.

Your visibility is limited to what you can see with your headlights.

High beams can be used if you can't see TWO headlights coming towards you, but only ONE blur......and from about half that distance when following another vehicle and should be used mainly on rural roads.

Pull that little tab up on your rear view mirror if you are driving on the highway, so that those bright lights following you won't affect your vision too badly. This will deflect the brightness from your eyes.

Reduce your speed by a few mph so that you have time to see things better.

Scan aggressively curb to curb in town and ditch to ditch in rural areas for pedestrians and animals.

Increase your following distance to give you time to react to anything happening ahead of you.

Remember to turn on your lights when you leave a brightly lit gas station or parking lot.....[grin]....

When driving at night in the rain, there is also a lot of reflection from the lights dancing off the water.

Vision is reduced at night and with practice and caution you will develop good skills.

When travelling, I usually stop and find a motel around 4 p.m. to give me time to take a walk, and avoid driving when the sun goes down and prevent the accompanying blindness.

As we age we lose our "night vision" and prefer not to drive during night time hours.

Daytime driving allows you much better visibility, and usually less fatigue as well.

We do live in a busy world and it is at times necessary to drive at night, so take it seriously and master your skills!

  5. Well now  ummm   let's see could it be the Gnomes, Trolls or even the Ogre's that be living under the road? Hmm what ever you do ....don't lift up the pavement to see what's underneath........... have a nice evening...Please

  6. My advise to you is to learn to drive slowly and take it one step at a time. Take extra lessons with a driving school instructor.
