Why am i taking his death so hard?

this kid at my school passed away 2 days ago (r.i.p) and its all i've been thinking about. i didnt know him as well as other people. yet i cried when i saw it on the news. why?

Well that is normal since u went to school with the guy, and im sure that's wat everyone else has been thinking! just do activities to take ur mind off things! ull get over it sooner or later!

death period is a sad sad thing. A few years ago, one of my brothers best friend died in a car accident and i cried like a baby. I barely knew him too. What made me sad, was thinking about his family and friends...how they were dealing with it...and also that his life was taken so fast.

Another one of my classmates are in the hospital right now for attempted suicide......Its just unbeleivable......i cry all the time just becuase they must be feeling really horrible. Its really common for people to cry just hearing things on the news when they dont know them personally...

I hope that you can deal with it ok. Its very hard. Im feeling pretty crappy about stuff like that too. Just pray for their loved ones that they will find peace in their hearts.

Could be a number of things:

Guilt over not trying to get to know him

Realization that it could have been you

Your school should have counselors available, make use of them.
