Why am i the only girl?

I have 3 brothers and 3 cousins who are all boys! I have no sisters.

Could this be something to do with my genes or...

My mum was adopted and so was her brother so its not my mum.

But my dad had a brother and 2 sisters.

I really dont get it at all! What could it be?

It's your mum.  The fact that you're the only girl is all down to your dad!  And your cousins' dads.  

Whether a baby is a boy or a girl is all dependent on the baby's dad.  Before you were born, your dad had two boys and really wanted a girl.  He read in a book that there are ways to increase the odds of having a girl, such as drinking lots of orange juice, and he did these things for ages.  Then when I had you and you were a girl, your dad was delighted!  

By the time we came to have your little brother, your dad didn't bother with all the orange juice, etc again because he already had his little girl.

There's no real scientific proof that it works, but your dad is convinced that that's what did it! x x
