  1. Some internet connections have totally different speeds for download and upload with upload being slower.  Your photos sizes being reported are way too big for most practical internet use - I take mine at 275K in jpg format and cut their size to 75-90K by making them 1/4 the size of page on the screen.   Zipping a jpg file saves no space or time because the jpg is already compressed - it is only a handy way of sending several images together.  Copy and paste is a wonderful feature that seems instantaneous most of the time in Windows, but to get something off your computer and to another computer, all those bytes (all that information) has to actually get moved.

  2. copy and past only works inside of programs and or for pasting text.

you cannot past images to websites they have to be uploaded.

if your speed is 54mbps you have more than enough speed to upload.

your photos should not be higher than 200kb if that, only wallpapers should be about 300kb.

you camera should have a setting feature that will let you choose an image size set it to 640 x 480 is you can if not try the method below

visit http://imageshack.us/  upload and resize your photos.  Hotlink your pictures to other sites, bookmark your photo links and download the resize images to your pc

  3. try using Picasa.. its the best one..

  4. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using... <<if you're using windows xp go to that site ,download the microsoft image resizing program...it's a small download and very easy to use
