In Yahoo Groups, why does the email address of a poster often appear incomplete, with an elipse (...), but not always? What determines whether the complete address shows or not?

  1. generally, only group management will see full addresses- the @...... is to protect users from spammers

  2. If you're not the group owner or moderator, all of the email addresses should appear with ellipsis marks [ ... ]. This prevents spambots from harvesting email addresses from Yahoo Groups for spamming purposes.

If you're the group owner or moderator, most of the email addresses will appear complete.  Long ones will be truncated and will show ellipsis marks.

If you want to see all the addresses in full, Group owners and moderators can download or export the membership list by using commands on the Members page.
