Why and how do scientists make human-animal hybrid embryos?

why do scientists want to use cow eggs and not human eggs? Im confused, im writing an article for my year 10 case study. Please explain it thoroughly, not just a sentence.

  1. Wise Duck has the correct answer.  Another reason human eggs are not used is that

    a) it would look too much like human cloning, which is illegal in your country

    b) some (religious) people are against destroying human embryos for any reason.

  3. You take a human cell's nucleus, and put in in an enucleated cow egg.  The human/cow embryo will then develop normally until it is harvested for stem cells.

    Cow eggs are cheap, human eggs are not.  This would provide a relatively cheap source of personalized stem cells that can then be used for medical cures.
