Why and when will Microsoft buy Oracle?

Oracles uses a Linux operating system. Is this better than Vista? Just trying to understand this stuff. Thanks

  1. Microsoft will never buy Oracle.  First and forement Larry Ellison owns 1,149,659,580 shares of the 5.16B oustanding shares.  Thats about 22% of the company, anyone would have a hard (read impossible) time ousting him as chairman of board and CEO.  So basically unless Larry wants to sell his company it ain't gonna happen.


  2. I agree that Microsoft will never buy Oracle.   I think the biggest hurdle would be regulatory.  In my opinion such a merger would not be approved.
