Why and where do you put ... in a message?

i had someone send me a text message and at the end put ... and in between a sentence. what exactly dones that mean and why use it?

it can signify there's more to come or for you to let your imagination fill in the rest. e.g., "we can go bowling, or....."

don't know if it means the same thing in texting... i'm not one of those people.

It is mainly just to show a pause in between and at the end it is to relate that they are not finished typing the remainder of the message yet.
