In animal kingdom, most fathers play no role at all in raising and taking care of the offspring whereas the animal mother takes all responsibility for the offspring. why?

  1. in the animal kingdom most animals don't see any conection between them after they mate, unlike humans some animals dont have the same concept and understanding of home and family like we do and the male would just get in the females way if he followed her around and wanted to stay with her. its how they have evolved to survive in different habitats and things. they would survive better without having to look after each other so they dont stay together. but then other animals like wolves all work together raising the young and have share some of the same understandings of how a family works and survives when they are together. it all has to do with the environment they live in and how they could best survive.

  2. It depends on the species.  There are all different kinds of reproductive strategies.  In some species, neither parent gives any care to the offspring.  These are usually species that produce a whole c**p load of offspring and just hope that a few make it (for example, sea stars).

In species that produce fewer offspring, in order to ensure that some survive, care is given.  Females, by definition, have invested a lot of energy into producing eggs, and therefore are more likely to want to ensure their investment pays off.  Males, on the other hand, can make lots of sperm cheaply and easily, and so in some species find it a better strategy to spread it around and hopefully leave a lot of offspring with a lot of different females.  But, in some species, the males also invest in parental care and take the strategy of producing fewer and investing in them.

Each of these strategies provides benefits and have evolved within the species over time.

  3. Cause they are heartless jacks

  4. probably because in alot of the cases the males will kill the offspring,to bring the female into season.

  5. ...coz the females have all the teats.....so they have no choice....

or the father were eaten or murdered by the mothers as in the case of some insects.....

  6. Because that is the way life is in the animal kingdom.  Don't exclude humans either.  While we humans are supposed to be good parents many are not and many just don't care.

Animals live by a simple yet complex code.  Their prime directive is to survive and reproduce.  If a male animal shows no or little parental care it is because the evolutionary process of that species has adapted and is successful without male parental care.  It has NOTHING to do with intelligence or emotions.

  7. In birds....in many species the males will help build the nest, incubate the eggs, and feed the young.
