Why architects & designer so f**** lazy with construction plans/drawings?

I worked in nz for a couple of years in a cabinetmaking company and all of the plan/drawings we get for manufacturing commerical or domestic furniture had so many f***-ups. (Not to mention plenty of spelling mistages)

Different measurements for the same cabinet. View's ans elevations don't match. Hardware don't fit the requirements of the job. And so on...

I also worked in other counties. Drawings/plans are not correct (ready for manufacturing) are rejected from the companies ans send back to the architects/designer for another revision in Europe. No wonder nz has thats a lousy (house)building quality. All this cost time, material and money.

  1. I know!! i do tenders daily and i am always having to contact them about size scale etc But if you go by their sizing n its wrong they dont like a price change do they. I now write in the closing paragraph: I reserve the right to reprice this tender should there be ANY sizing or differences the in plans/drawings. This has got me out of a few stuff ups by the architects n they don't like it.

  2. if they would use the cad system then the measurements should be the same if transfer ed from/to different elevations. right?

i guess they just so f****lazy because they charge $150 or so an hour and don't want spend to much time on the plans, there are better things to do as like as fishing or golfing. or have you ever reached an architect/designer Fridays after lunch?

  3. I agree they seem to not know how to use the cad systems, and some do it totaly different than others.the old original manual drawings(blueprints) were much more precise.
