Why are 'nerdy' kids sterotyped as always wearing sweater-vests?

no i think a nerd is considered the one who is really smart and dresses dorky.

People who are smart but are social and hott and everything are just considered smart.

At my school, they force us to wear sweater vests.  I don't see why anyone would wear them on purpose.

I'm as nerdy as they get and neither I, nor my friends have ever worn a sweater vest.....   -.-

well some of my friends call me nerdy

and i were like holister and all those other types of clothes

i think i have a really good fashion ;P

because it looks too clean and preppy.

but i disagree about stereotyping people as nerds if they're wearing sweater-vests...its immature and highly judgmental.
