I'm not just talking about security related civil liberties. I mean government control over more and more aspects of our private lives.

  1. Surprisingly, a lot of Americans are willing to give up some of their civil liberties in the name of safety (or the impression of safety).

  2. As a nation, WE THE PEOPLE, need to wake up. Just voting is not enough. The first problem we let get past us is not holding all ELECTED officials accountable.  What we seem to have forgotten is, They, (the Politicians) work for us... not us for them. Yet we go with the flow and allow the lying, cheating, the special interests and everything else that is a mockery to Our Rights  and The Constitution  to continue.

Until we stand up and MAKE our voices heard, nothing is going to change. It will only get worse. One excellent way to do that is, and prove to Washington that we're tired of all this, bring about Term Limits for ALL elected Officials.

  3. Because we don' t want to be blown up when we go to the Mall.

  4. Name one civil liberty you have been denied since 9-11....

That's only for terrorists, kill and torture the terrorists, they aren't human.........

    Kill, kill, kill

Lol, I am sorry but are these real answers or are they just CIA, FBI, and NSA members trying to make us think that there are people really this dumb.

"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day.  If you teach a man to fish...........He's got to buy a fishing liscense, but he can't afford a fishing liscense.  So he's got to get a job, then he's got to get a social security number and pay taxes.  But he still can't eat his fish because he's got to have a permit for an open flame.  Then the FDA says, you can't eat that here, what will you do with the scales and the guts, that's unsanitary........What the h**l happened to freedom?"

    No taxation without representation:

Tax his land, Tax his bed, Tax the table at which he's fed.

Tax his tractor, Tax his mule, Teach him taxes are the rule.

Tax his work, Tax his pay, He works for peanuts anyway!

Tax his cow, Tax his goat, Tax his pants, Tax his coat.

Tax his ties, Tax his shirt, Tax his work, Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco, Tax his drink, Tax him if he tries to think.

Tax his cigars, Tax his beers, If he cries tax his tears.

Tax his car, Tax his gas, Find other ways to tax him.

Tax all he has then let him know that you won't be done

    Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers; then tax him some m ore,

Tax him till he's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin, Tax his grave, tax the sod in which he's laid.

Put these words upon his tomb, 'Taxes drove me to my doom...'

I hope this goes around THE USA at least 100 times!!!!! YOU can help

    it get the re!!!!

  5. Because Fox and Limbaugh are telling them "don't worry, it's not YOUR civil liberties..."

Edit:  LOL. What'd I tell ya?

  6. More and more people are buying into the mind set that they cannot think or do for themselves. Libs are telling us that nothing is our fault and we should not take any blame for anything we have done. We are buying it. When this happens it makes it easier for them to regulate our lives. Take this housing bail out bill going through today. I screwed up and actually listened the day I signed the paperwork. I screwed up and put 20% down on a 30 year mortgage. I screwed up and made my payments on time. Those who say these people were duped are full of c**p and believe that everyone is a victim. Take responsibility for yourselves and quit making the taxpayer be responsible for you. This is a bad bill that will increase the national debt at a time when the libs are screaming about the national debt from the war. We need less government in our lives!!!!

  7. Because the current administration has instilled so much fear in so many people and these people think they will be safer by handing over their rights.

  8. My civil liberties aren't being encroached.

  9. People who are entrenched in a society that has been living in fear for the past 7 years see any increase to security as a necessity, even if it inherently does little or nothing.  So they're willing to lose civil liberties that reason.  It's disheartening, I know.

  10. You might be familiar with the Problem, Reaction, Solution method some have hinted at here.  Fear is created out of the problem, the public reacts, and the one's who formed the problem in the first place offer a solution.  Since fear is one of the easiest emotions to control, those in search of power or more power like to implement fear in the masses to "get their way".  Very unique concept indeed, but definitely a witty and deceitful approach to, well, get one's way.  Hitler, Diocletian, and Nero were some of the most famous tyrannic rulers known to manipulate the masses with the Problem, Reaction, Solution method.

  11. To be blunt, it is because many Americans are not as well educated as what they used to be.  Look at where we now rank in education, compared to our ranking only fifty years ago.  I look at some of the answers, which people post concerning question that deal with economics and history, and it is evident why our country is in the shape it is.  It is evident why people are gladly handing over their rights to the government.  The sad thing is that people will not wake up to this, until it is too late.

  12. Fear and a thirst for instant, work free solutions, I think. I am often amazed at how often I hear people about this right before they launch in to a new parenting by legislation idea or demands that the government regulate their neighbor's bedroom.

  13. I think your question is too vague to give an answer. There are trade offs to be made in society. Do you mean your right to take shampoo on a plane?  Your right to carry a gun around Manhattan? Or do you mean your right to talk on a cell phone while driving your car? Every one has different arguments that need to be weighed.

Regarding the Kook who listed all of "taxes" on everything in society, what pct of those were implemented by Democratic congresses? Just about all of them. So vote for them again and pay up.

  14. Simple - they are gullible, ignorant about their history, badly educated - and easily swayed by the threat that they will be blown up every time they go to the mall!

The techniques and the excuse (threat of terrorism) are exactly the same techniques Hitler used to such effect.

  15. 1 - We've grown weak and stupid with all our riches and possessions.

2 - Common sense is just about dead.

3 - Socialists, while very far left of the common citizen, continue their stealthy campaign to increase our dependence upon their liberty-destroying system of governement.

  16. Its clowns like whiteflame who we have to be really worried about. Does he have access to classified information? Does he know how many plots have been thwarted by these "encroachments"? Do you think the Democrats in congress would have agreed to the FISA bill if they weren't presented with credible information that it was effective and needed to protect our country? People like whiteflame are a disgrace. People who complain about things they know nothing about should just shut up.
