it seems as if in the United states they dont study science, and people tend to believe there are genetical races that determine a person's personality and value as a person

Also why is it that Americans cant get over the fact every one regards them as americans outside of the US, regardless of how white, black, mexican etc, they are?

  1. It is a political phenomena mostly from the Democratic party.  They tend to try to divide everyone into a race and then cater to it.  They promise victimhood status and compensation.  Do you see yourself as the spokesperson for everyone other than American.  Americans are one of the least racist societies that ever existed though we are far from perfect.  We fought wars to end slavery and tyranny and I am not just referring to the Civil War.

  2. that's funny: white, black or mexican.  HAHAHA!

  3. in the U.S. we like to hang on to our heritage, because this is a melting pot and everyone has different backgrounds.

  4. I agree that Americans are Americans and race shouldn't be a factor but with all respect I submit that Blacks are perpetuating this by always playing the "Victim card".

  5. thats how stupid we are

  6. in my experience it is the "races" that are racist.

I am going to be general:.....We are HUMAN, that is the only race!  People need to get over themselves, stop blaming others for their failures in life....get an education and make something of themselves.  Everyone has a right to seek higher education and their failure to do so and blame society for holding them back is unacceptable!  The only thing holding you back is YOU!

  7. i am not obsessed with labeling anyone. as far as i am concerned there is only one race "human", period.

  8. Where are you from?  What gives you the right to judge the USA (a country three times the size of India)?  Obviously if you're subscribing to these stereotypes of Americans, you don't know anything about us, so crawl back under your rock and continue ignoring us.

  9. It's possible to acknowledge that people look different from one another, and label them as such, without judging their values.

Also, "American" is a nationality, not an ethnicity. People outside of America will still distinguish between ethnicities.

"Mexican" is also a nationality. Mexicans are Latin Americans (Latino/Latina) from Mexico.

  10. Actually Americans are the only nationality to address racism, even though it is common in all the World's countries.  Those that see other countries as Utopian when it comes to race have simply not traveled a great deal or lived in other countries.  I find Mexico, South America, Europe, & all Asian countries to be far more racist than the US.  However, we Americans do like to beat up on ourselves for our percieved racist tendencies.

I can elaborate on racism in other countries, should anyone wish to discuss these issues?  America, because it is such a huge melting pot, dedicated to "created equal" as stated in the Constitution, is the only country that has funded programs to combat racism.  While the US is far from "racist free" I find far less overt racism than in most other countries here.

  11. Where are you from?

As far as I know, for the rest of the world, everyone in the American Continent, ergo, Mexicans, Colombians, Salvadorians, Argentinians, Brazilians, etc. are known as an AMERICANS. Are those the Americans you are talking about?

  12. I'm fed up telling folk that there are no different races, there is only the one race. We are made up of nationalities, and nomadic tribes, descended from the survivors of the great flood. You can find their names in the first book of Genesis, but if you don't believe the bible, surely you can accept that there had to be survivors of the flood, and wherever their ark settled when the water subsided, that's where they settled, and the environment they had to live in took care of how we look today. Now isn't that simple !

  13. I think that other countries are obsessed with race as well but in different ways and maybe to different degrees.  some things that we label nationality they label race (poles, Jews, Irish, Koreans, Ainu).  and we have the labels "Hispanic" or Latin or Spanish which are used to describe people who are often more native-American (Asian) or African than they are Spaniards solely based on a language that their ancestors learned to speak.

If you look to Africa or the Balkans, while we consider the different groups all to be of one race, they consider themselves to be polar opposites.

it's really a drag the way race is used and has been used as a sword and a shield by every single discernible group in the history of the USA and in the Americas.

Note to answerer: It has not been my experience that the rest of the world regarding everyone from the hemisphere as Americans.  I didn't hear anyone refer to people from the rest of the hemisphere as being American (as opposed to South or North American) until I traveled in Central America.  I don't think that the Chinese, Indians, Swedes, and Brits are referring to the Argentines as Americans.
