Why are British newspapers so negative.?

The sun and Mirror in particular, also mags like Heat seem to pump up a star, then are hellbent on kicking them when there down, why is that.

the gutter press are only interested in sales and print all this rubbish about so called celebrities and  overpaid football players etc.as this is what the masses want to read
