Question:

Why are Broadway tickets generally more expensive than the West End's

I've seen both Broadway and West End versions of Wicked, Hairspray, Jersey Boys, Chicago etc... But can't see an obvious difference in the quality of performance. Yet there is considerable difference in price.

(Box office sale only - I know that there are offers/discounts for both)

Anyone know why?

  1. locaton and its broadway!

  2. ya i noticed that too. I saw Wicked on Broadway for $150 a ticket. Then when I went to London I saw the West End version for 12.50 pounds. I was shocked. thats like $25. and in all honesty the west end production was MUCH better. the cast was more talented. I gues it really is location, but it shouldnt be.

  3. its broadway darling!!
