  1. Well they want to be like the US but they are not powerful enough so they basically hate America.

  2. Lol i dont want attention from the states. even though theres a border 2 hours away from me

i dont compare my self to americans, our school systems are totally different, and so are alot of things, so why compare things that are different?

    i dont say i am better, i know i am better lol : )

other then that, im just telling you i dont compare myself to you guys. : ) good day.

  3. umm okay .. i think youre TOTALLY & ABSOLUTELY WRONG.

IM canadian and i know other canadians that

dont even care about wanting to be like you guys.

we dont have this deperate need of attention.

where are you getting this from? :S

and no offnece..but i think YOURE the one comparing yourself

to us thinking that your country is totally the best .

and maybe we need to prove that we are btter cause

"canada is a free country" and since

these two countries ae very close together and both speak

english, people tnd to look over us and since america is more

of the celebrity world and more advertised,,

obv most people dont care much about canada.

which kinda sucks cause CANADA RULESS :D

  4. I think it's the little brother complex. Internationally they are regarded as something of an afterthought – "The US blah blah blah... oh and Canada too..." It'd give anyone an inferiority complex.

  5. What are you talking about dude, I'm Canadian and I even don't want to be like you Americans. Here in Canada we have our own culture, also we speak totally different then you guys.

By the way, your spelling of the word "favorite", "color" and "honor" is not right. The right spelling are "favoURite", "coloUR" and "honoUR". Remember putting UR in every word after a letter O. It's proper English that came from Britain.

  6. No it is sadly the Americans need to feel that everyone else wants to emulate them and are jealous of them!

But ask yourself with America having the largest national debt, sub prime debt, starting the most wars in centuries in just one presidents term of office, the largest number of poor and destitute in the civilized world and now tented towns for those that are dispossessed of their houses that are fast looking like third world refugee camps - prey tell us what is there in that, that you think anyone would be jealous of?!!

  7. Young Canadians do tend to be obsessed with the US. Mostly due to the pop culture influence. I don't see how it's a bad thing for the US though. Half the sports figures and celebrities in the US come from Canada.  I would think Iran / Iraq / N.Koreas obsession with the States is more disturbing.

I do understand why Canadians would like more attention though. The US purposely ignores Canada's existence for political purposes and it can be annoying to see a US news show talk about a story of a plane crash in Toronto as if it happened in the US.  Or when the US talks about it's biggest trade partner being somewhere that is not Canada or it's biggest oil supplier or agro-suppiler etc. As well Bush can't even remember the name of the Canadian Prime Minister. No matter how you feel about the sad little Canadians, that's pretty disturbing to have an entire nation of people who can't even point out the 2nd largest country on a map and be led by someone who can't remember the name of the PM of it's most important trading partner.

I am Canadian and I feel no need to prove I am better, but that is because there is no such thing as a best country.  Only a best country for you. If you feel the need for better health care, lower income, better education, higher taxes, good hockey and freezing cold, then Canada is for you. If you feel you need more excitement, B&E's, a better job market, rediculous politicians, higher salaries, old ladies packing heat, and thousands of tv channels, then the US is probably better for you.
