  1. They generally are not unless there is an emergency. However, most PDs are fairly lenient if the officer speeds while performing an official duty (responding to back an officer, non emergency call, ect)

It's strange, my neighbor works for a local cable company and he has the best cable, high speed internet, ect, all for free....No one seems to complain about that.

Added: To the person that posted the "Jimmy Justice" thing.....Despite the video saying "cop" or "officer" several times.  Every person on the video was a non commissioned (non cop) civilian meter maids.

  2. They aren't, except in an emergency situation.

    It's a butt-buddy deal amongst each other

  3. Depends on the call they are on and its severity, that is all I can really say. I wish you had more details. Many police departments have a no pursuit policy within city limits, because of public safety, but if they are in pursuit of a felony, and the suspect or suspects are a threat to such, they may, with dept permission, pursue. The fire hydrant issue depends on why they stopped there in the first place, was it to apprehend or stop a crime in progress?

  4. Jimmy justice does not have the balls to film cops...those are meter maids he films...get your facts straight.

  5. Ever see Jimmy Justice catch cops parking illegally?

  6. Here in NJ, we are only allowed to exceed the posted speed limit in two situations, responding to an emergency call or in pursuit.

Contrary to popular belief, other "emergency vehicles", like ambulances and fire trucks are never permitted to exceed the posted speed limit.

All emergency vehicles are exempt from parking regulations when it is "reasonably necessary" to accomplish the mission at hand.

I might park in front of a fire hydrant if there is no other space available on the block. It is "reasonable and necessary" if I'm going into the store to investigate a theft. It is neither reasonable nor necessary If I'm going in to buy my lunch. In that case its just arrogance and laziness.

  7. Because, if you were shot would you want them to come there at only 35mph or a 80mph.  My neighbor works for the electric company any coincidence that when power goes out it is up within 1 hour.

  8. They're cops.......

  9. Cause they're cops
